Publications

Drawing on ancestral knowledge and new research, we create and contribute to publications in many forms that ties into our larger understanding of ecosystem thinking. Our processes involve writing, interviewing and reflecting on personal histories of common family descent groups from our region to document their endangered stories and to showcase the beautiful cultural diversity of their village. These publications are available in a variety of locations including libraries and research centers and include:

Dolphin Head Story Bridge
Our multimedia platform unveils human interest stories through an interactive story map that echo the human condition, set against the backdrop of the captivating Dolphin Head Forest Reserve. As a registered tribal media member of the Indigenous Journalists Association, we are committed to fostering an Indigenous-owned media outlet, ensuring integrity and objectivity in our storytelling endeavors.  This initiative was born from a collaboration between Amelia Wilhelmina Elliott-Harvey Estates (AWEHE) and OurStoryBridge.

Exhibitions

Our exhibitions are rooted in traditional practices of exchanging skills, knowledge, and understanding by the riverside and are thoughtfully crafted for museums, galleries, and art markets. These exhibitions are an extension of our voice, denoted by the quality of sweet voice that is characteristic of our riverside community. Please take a look at our upcoming exhibitions to get a sense of the stories we create for immersive story-adaptive environments. Upcoming exhibitions:

Dolphin Head Story Bridge: Quintennial Exhibition
Dolphin Head Story Bridge: Quintennial Exhibition, the inaugural edition of this five-year celebration, marks a revival of an endangered practice of story gathering—a craft not seen since 1994. Presented in partnership with Dolphin Head Annex, this exhibition will feature visual portraits and photo essays from the Dolphin Head Story Bridge platform, celebrating the families and stories that have emerged from our 2024-2029 Dry Season Storytelling Tour editions. Each story is a thread in the vibrant tapestry of our community, and this exhibition aims to weave these threads into a narrative that honors our past while looking forward to our future. It is a celebration of the publication of new stories featured on the platform, a culmination of years worth of storytelling that enriches and empowers local indigenous communities. By restoring this practice, we also revive the trading routes abroad, presenting a piece of our heritage to the world. This exhibition is not just a display; it is a reclamation of voice and a restoration of a vital cultural artery that sustains our community.

Library Holdings & Resources

Our organization is dedicated to providing access to valuable personal and family histories that shape our community. We are currently working on two key initiatives to make these resources available:

1. Dolphin Head Library: We have entered into a public access partnership with Dolphin Head Library to create an interlibrary loan system. This collaboration will allow us to share a wealth of resources, including:

  • Custom memory books and visual archives

  • Personal and family histories, albums, and diaries

  • Special event documentation

These materials will be available through Dolphin Head Library, ensuring our community has access to these important pieces of our shared heritage.

2. Traditional Knowledge Databases: In addition to our partnership with Dolphin Head Library, we are also committed to working with other platforms and linking to Traditional Knowledge Databases, including WIPO and Local Contexts. By connecting with these resources, we aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of our community's history and cultural traditions.

Sign up to our newsletter to stay informed about our progress and to be among the first to access our Library Holdings and Resources as we produce them.
